First Polish record in the ROARMAP Registry

On the 16th of February 2010 in the ROARMAP registry a policy of the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics PAS regarding the compulsory archiving of all published manuscripts in the IBB PAS institutional repository was registered. It is a 145th entry in this database and the first entry from Poland. Congratulations!

II International Open Access Conference

On the 14th and 15th of January in Toruń, Poland there was a II International Open Access Conference. The aim of the conference was to convince the world of Polish science to the open model of scientific communication (Open Access), which is the most modern and economically justified model used in many institutions in the world. During the conference there were presentations anout experiences and solutions from western Europe and about the possibilities of wider use of Open Access approach in Poland and about the challenges related to this.

During the first day of the conference a presentation titled “Open scientific resources in Poland – selected projects and initiatives, european cooperation” was given by Marcin Werla from the PSNC Digital Libraries Team.
