Manuscript with the first ever sentence written in Polish is available on-line

On the February 9, 2010 on the website of FIDES Digital Library a digital version of “Księga Henrykowska” was published. It is a manuscript coming from XIII century, in which for the first time ever a sentence written in Polish can be found:

„day ut ia pobrusa, a ti poziwai”

which means „please, I will grind, and you take a rest”. This sentence can be found on the 24th page of the manuscript, row 9 from the bottom.

More information about this event can be found at FIDES Digital Library, and an interesting post was also published on the blog of Tomasz Kalota from the Wrocław University Library.
